Call for a Dept of Peace All Week

Like we've had the Pentagon, the department of War, Congressman Dennis Kucinich is calling for a Department of Peace.

I got this email that I'm posting here for anyone who is interested in using peace as a strategy for success.

"It's not too late to join our national action to Call for a Department of Peace. We're calling EVERY member of the House of Representatives EVERY thirty minutes from Monday, December 3 through Friday, December 7, 2007.

This massive joint action between The Peace Alliance and the Student Peace Alliance (SPA) was democratically created by nearly 300 youth at the first-ever SPA national conference in October. We're working together to show that EVERY generation calls for peace!

You can still sign up to call your member. Go to www.callforadepartmentofpeace.org and follow the simple instructions to sign up for your slot.

The Capitol switchboard number is 202-224-3121. Ask for your member of Congress and you'll be connected. (If you're not sure who your member is, visit www.congress.org and enter your home address to find out.)

If you would like to make more calls, please go to www.callforadepartmentofpeace.org and sign up to:

Call Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
Thank the HR 808 cosponsors (see list below), and/or
Call other Representatives. Some volunteers have committed to calling 100 or more Representatives in support of HR 808!

When you call, stay positive and on the topic of the Department of Peace. There's a sample script at the bottom of this email.

In the future we want to build a more efficient and easy to use online action system for call-in actions like this. You can help us do that by donating to SPA here.

Thank for your amazing commitment and support! And thank you to those of you who have already made your call! Just a few minutes of your time can make a world of difference.

Sincerely,
Wendy Greene
Managing Director
The Peace Alliance
